Welcome to the German Shepherd Dog Club of Wisconsin Website!
|

The German Shepherd Dog Club of Wisconsin is a not-for-profit organization that operates under the rules and regulations of the American Kennel Club.
A group of thirty-three German Shepherd Dog fanciers established the GSDC of Wisconsin in 1947. Their original mission was to further interest in the breed as well as to develop a systematic training program.
Today, that original mission continues to be a reality. With club membership over 200 strong, the GSDC of Wisconsin is a recognized regional club of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America. Through proper fiduciary care, the GSDC of Wisconsin owns and maintains a clubhouse and expansive training grounds, where two annual AKC licensed shows and obedience trials (as part of the Midwest Specialty Triangle Cluster) are held as well as one agility trial and two B-OB matches.
The Club offers extensive obedience training from beginners through utility, agility and fly ball training. Also offered are classes for puppy care and socialization and conformation for juniors and adults. The Club's obedience and conformation instructors are experienced and willing to help those serious about raising and training a sound, healthy and well-behaved companion or show dog.
Other events hosted throughout the year include an exhibition at the World of Dogs at Wisconsin's State Fair, participation in various community holiday parades and specially requested demonstrations for Scout Troops, 4-H Clubs, Nursing Homes and Library Programs. Such demonstrations acquaint and educate the public about the versatility and beauty of the German Shepherd Dog as a companion, working and/or show dog.
