Tales

Wow!  The Tales looks terrific for the combined Dec/Jan issue with all the Christmas ads in color. Check out the Dec/Jan issue IN COLOR online.

Don't forget that Breeders' Page annual advertising is due in March.

The Clubhouse

The paneling is up and we're discussing ideas for how to finish it.  "Buy" a panel for only $40. See Ron, Tim, Nancy, Sharon, or Pam.

Thanks to all who helped build the addition through their donations.  Thanks to the people who remembered Karen Lubenow and Fred Cekosh in this project through their donations.

Training

Obedience rankings for 2009 are posted on GSDCA.org.

We have 4 members in the top ranks: Joe Caputa, Sandy Smeiska, Karen Grikstas, and Sandy Radtke.  Congrats!

The German Shepherd Dog Club of Wisconsin

German Shepherd Dog Club of WiscsonsinThe German Shepherd Dog Club of Wisconsin offers extensive obedience training from beginner through utility, rally obedience, agility and fly ball. Also offered are classes for puppy care and socialization and conformation for juniors and adults.

The Club's instructors are experienced volunteers who are willing to teach about how to raise and train a healthy and well-behaved dog.

The Club owns and maintains training grounds, where American Kennel Club (AKC) licensed shows, obedience trials, agility trials, and fun matches are held.  It is a not-for-profit organization affiliated with the American Kennel Club and the German Shepherd Dog Club of America.

Community events include an exhibition at the World of Dogs at Wisconsin's State Fair, participation in various community holiday parades and specially requested demonstrations for Scout Troops, 4-H Clubs, Nursing Homes and Library Programs. Such demonstrations educate the public about the versatility and beauty of the German Shepherd Dog as a companion, working and/or show dog and teach children how to approach and safely play with any breed of dog.

Founded in 1947 by 33 German Shepherd enthusiasts, the Club was to promote interest in and to train people to properly train their German Shepherd Dogs.
